I need some advice. A few close friends of mine have decided to road trip it with me this summer. We don't have a TON of time because we all work or will be working. We're looking for easy, cheap weekend road trips. Any suggestions?

I remember when we lived near Chicago, we took a road trip to Mackinac Island, Michigan. I was in middle school, but I remember it was a lot of fun! It's an island where they don't allow cars, so everyone walks or rides bikes, and they're famous for their fudge.

I agree with whirldpeas - Mackinac Island is so much fun. We went there several times with our kids. But I think you would have to spend the night in order to see everything. Also, Traverse City, MI is fun especially during Cherry Festival which I think is in July or Aug. Of course South Haven or St Joseph beaches are awesome and relatively close. Battle Creek has an awesome zoo - Binder Park Zoo - Kalamazoo has a great aeronatics museum.
That's fo funny, I was thinking Maciinac.... also the Badlands in South Dakota is I think about 8-10 hr drive then you can stop at Wall Drug too!
Also last summer Mike and I explored a bit of Southern Il, Completely different terrain than here and lost of State Parks!
My personal favorite... Northern Wisconsin! Rent a cabin or motel on a lake, go fishing, row a boat watch the eagles fly.
